Steven Pressfield was right. The War of Art is real. The conflict is especially acute when you’re a graduate student attempting to wax poetic at 8:55 pm on a Tuesday night after you’ve already put in a full day of critical thinking (and BSing) at work. But every night I choose to read a chapter from the Kotler textbook or wrestle with a funnel practice problem instead of giving in to the brain-numbing bliss of watching re-runs of The Office, I win. I have conquered the day. I have chosen long-term growth over immediate gratification. I’m on my way to a better life.
